Sierra Garden Apartments

Sierra Garden is 76 unit, 100 percent project-based Section 8 affordable housing project, originally built in 1974 and is situated on a forested 7.2 acre site in South Lake Tahoe. PDG in partnership with local nonprofit Saint Joseph Community Land Trust and California nonprofit Community Revitalization & Development Corporation administered a major renovation in 2018 that included interior remodel of units, including new kitchens with Energy-Star appliances, new bathrooms, new floor coverings, fresh retexture/paint, new doors, new wall heaters and all new fixtures; Reconstruction of the existing laundry/mail/maintenance building as a two-story building with manager’s office, computer stations, rest rooms, and a new activities center on the second floor; landscape improvements and a new community garden.
